DVDFab Video Converter is a program designed to help you turn video files into FLV, MKV, MP4, TS, M2TS and WMV.
But it can also extract the audio stream and save it to AAC, MP3, WAV and WMA, as well as prepare items for BlackBerry, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, iPad and iPhod, among other devices.
The interface of the tool is clean and intuitive. Adding files to the queue can be done with the help of the file browser or "drag and drop" function. It is possible to work with multiple entries at the same time.
The file list displays the source name and format, play time, size, audio and video codec, along with the resolution of each clip. If you prefer the default settings, then all you have to do is specify the output profile and directory, in order to start the conversion operation.
Otherwise, you can modify audio and video properties in regard to the codec, encoding method, resolution, frame rate, quality, deinterlacing, bit rate, size, sample rate, channel mode and volume level. Settings can be restored to default.
Additionally, you can preview videos in a built-in media player and load subtitles, resize and crop movies, change the interface language, as well as set DVDFab Video Converter to minimize to the system tray on exit and disallow multiple instances.
The video conversion app needs a very high amount of system resources to complete a job in reasonable time. It is very responsive, includes a help file and outputs a good image and sound quality. We have not come across any issues during our tests and DVDFab Video Converter did not freeze or crash.
On the downside, you cannot select the number of CPU cores to be used, trim videos by size or time, as well as set DVDFab Video Converter to close the application or to turn off the computer when all tasks are done.
