Internet Lock is a powerful software solution designed to control the access to Internet and intranet connections by setting up rules for each program and port.
While it provides lots of configuration options, it's still a good thing that Internet Lock remains very easy to use, mostly thanks to its user-friendly approach, perfectly brought in the spotlight by a straightforward interface.
Once you launch the program, you're allowed to either manage the existing rules or access the log for more information on recent activity of the tracked items.
Setting up a new rule is quite an easy task and, in case you don't wish to use the wizard, you need to provide information such as program, blocked ports and password. There are three options at your disposal: block access completely, allow it or password protect the program.
You can define either a single port or a whole range, while separate features enable you to create scheduled rules. In addition, you're allowed to enhance the access rule by defining target IPs, domains and users.
The “Options” screen lets you enable and disable the application, reset the internal database so that all programs ask for password again and change the language.
While Internet Lock works like a charm on Windows XP and Vista, it fails to work properly on Windows 7, as it doesn't save the defined rules and cannot be activated.
All things considered, this is quite a handy piece of software, with tons of customization options and full control power provided to the user. It runs on low resources and doesn't hamper system performance at all.
