The internet is not a safe place, that's for sure. Your computer is a gateway to all the bad stuff that can harm your kids: pornography, violence, foul language.
Once they become exposed to them, it's "bye-bye childhood" and "hello, cruel world".
In order to protect your children from inappropriate online and offline content, you need to have a system that will block them access, but that also grants it to you, the adult (not that parents would be interested in watching porn...).
Anti-Porn is a lockdown software that can help you in that matter.
During installation you are required to set a master password. You must enter it every time you wish to exit the application, or access the main menu from the system tray. Don't worry, you can change it afterwards.
On a side note, wouldn't it be great if you purchased this software, but your smart kid got ahead of you and installed it, setting the master password? Talk about irony...
The application has a user-friendly and visually appealing simple interface, and its mascot is a humanized happy bird.
The bird part looked very very disturbing to all of us, especially when he popped out of the bottom right corner of the screen, saying "Anti-Porn: Switched to child mode", while winking at you...
The circular, predominantly blue interface has obvious commands. You can switch to child or adult mode by simply pressing a button, follow the URL log to see what's been going on in the web browser, take a snapshot, or configure settings.
In Setup, you can configure filter options (sensitivity, blacklist, whitelist, language, and keywords), chat restriction, game restriction, log settings, time control, and eye protection (lock the PC screen by setting work time and rest time, in order to protect your kid's eyesight).
Don't worry, no matter how smart your kid is, he can't uninstall it because the master password is again required.
The Anti-Porn application is marvelous, and it works every time (to the point that it gets annoying if you forget to switch it off). CPU memory is used to a minimum, barely noticeable. The full version is pretty cheap, too.
Every responsible parent should get their hands on this piece of software and use it accordingly.
