ChromePass is a Windows freebie specifically designed to help you recover passwords stored by Google Chrome.
Just like any other web browser, Google Chrome can save information such as usernames and passwords that you type when logging in specific websites visited on the Internet.
So the purpose of this application is quite simple: scan Google Chrome’s files and display all the passwords, along with other useful details.
The main window of the program for example shows you the original URL, action URL, username and password fields, usernames and passwords, created time and password strength, with all these details extracted from Google Chrome.
Right clicking on one or more entries lets you save the data or generate HTML reports that can be then saved on the local disks. Additionally, the application comprises a dedicated feature to load only the passwords of the currently logged-in user or the password from a user-defined profile.
ChromePass needs just a few seconds to display the passwords and it doesn’t affect system performance at all, as it runs on low resources all the time. Furthermore, it works flawlessly on all Windows iterations out there.
All in all, ChromePass can come in handy to many users out there, not only because it’s freeware, but also thanks to the fact that it’s distributed as a very light package. Support for multiple browsers however would definitely attract more users, while a comprehensive help manual to explain every single feature could make beginners feel a bit safer.
