DocFetcher is an Open Source desktop search application. It allows you to perform fast searches for all documents in a given set of folders that contain certain keywords. - You can think of it as Google for your local document repository.

· Support for the old Excel format (BIFF5 from Excel 5.0/7.0) added. Earlier versions of DocFetcher skipped them with an "Unknown file format" error message.
· Support for macro-enabled MS Office 2007 formats added (docm, xlsm, pptm).
· The highlighting in the preview panel is now fully implemented.
· DocFetcher now indexes some PDF files on which it used to fail with a "No permission to extract text" error message.
· The default search includes filenames and a searchable field "filename" has been added (e.g. filename:"dog cat").
· Leading wildcards (i.e. search strings starting with * or ?) are allowed.
Bugfixes:
· On Linux, there was a subtle window focus problem after the user pressed Enter in the search box.
· On Linux, clicking certain buttons didn't work.
· Crash window appears while indexing MS Office files (bug #2929639).
· Temporary MS Word files are now silently skipped during indexing (bug #2927439).
