Creating backups for your files can be particularly useful since it means you’re not going to lose anything. However, it also translates into a large collection of discs.
Cathy is a small program that was designed to help you catalog a wide range of media types. It has a clean interface that is very easy to figure out.
The program lets you index the files stored on various removable media. The app works with directories and subdirectories and lets you modify the archive method depending on the media type.
The program supports the drag and drop feature, so you can simply drag the items you want to catalog straight to the app’s interface. It’s even possible to define a list of files and directories that can be ignored through the entire process, such as temporary files.
All the files can be found in the interface, along with the name, date, length, volume and path.
The app even provides a search tool that can be used to search for certain files. Some filtering options are available so you can thin down the list of results. It’s possible to also detect duplicate items.
All in all, Cathy is a nice application that is sure to come in handy if you have a large disc collection. Less experienced individuals shouldn’t have any troubles with the program, thanks to the intuitive layout and its overall simplicity.
