PSPad is a comprehensive text editor that provides not only advanced text editing functions, but also more advanced goodies addressed to programmers, no matter the language they use.

There are so many tools in there that you may find PSPad a bit overwhelming at the first glance, but it’s just the way such a powerful application is supposed to be.
Besides the obvious syntax highlighting that you can easily find in so many downloadable applications out there, PSPad also comes with a full HEX editor, a FTP client so that you can edit files straight on the server, a macro recorder, auto correction, spell checker, internal web browser, a color translator and so many other tools that can come in very handy when working on your projects.
As for the text editing functions, what we found really interesting during our test was the file info feature that provides an impressive array of details regarding your document.
Not only that it shows you the character and word count, but it also displays a list with the most frequently used words in the documents, thus helping you correct the text and improve your vocabulary.
All things considered, PSPad is the right tool to have, either you’re a beginner or an experienced programmer. And the fact that it’s free makes it so much better.
