XMLmind XSL-FO Converter is a software component designed to convert XSL Formatting Objects (XSL-FO) to various formats compatible with all major word processors.
XMLmind XSL-FO Converter currently supports Rich Text Format (RTF, compatible with Microsoft Word), WordprocessingML (WML, compatible with MS-Word 2003 and newer versions), Office Open XML (OOXML, MS-Word 2007 native format) and OpenDocument (ODF, OpenOffice.org native format) output.
XMLmind XSL-FO Converter is a useful tool for converting XML data or XML documents to MS-Word and OpenOffice formats.
XMLmind XSL-FO Converter is available in two versions, targeted at the Java Platform and the Microsoft .NET Framework respectively.
Limitations:
· 30 days trial
· Doesn't provide full access to the conversion engine API.
· The leader element is only partly supported.
· The instream-foreign-object element is not supported.
· The float and marker elements are not supported.
· The writing-mode property is not supported (value lr-tb is assumed).
What's New in This Release:
· XMLmind XSL-FO Converter engine: added support for the orphans and widows XSL-FO properties.
· Remember that Window/Orphan control is turned on by default, as the initial value of the orphans and widows properties is 2.
· Also note that for MS-Word, Window/Orphan control is an all or nothing option. Therefore if you set attribute orphans or attribute widows to 1, Window and Orphan control will be turned off. If, on the contrary, you set attribute orphans or attribute widows to any value greater or equal than 2, Window and Orphan control will be turned on.
· Unlike MS-Word, OpenOffice/LibreOffice fully supports the orphans and widows XSL-FO properties.
