StrokeScribe will provide developers with additional flexibility and allows to integrate barcode into existing documents from programs that do not support it directly.
Metafiles are used to draw the barcode images, so it allows to print them with different graphical resolutions without image quality loss. Working with barcode comes to specifying a few ActiveX properties and is easily accessible to the average skilled PC user.
With programming skills, it’s easy to create documents with dynamically generated barcodes of different formats based on data from text files, spreadsheets and databases.
Limitations:
· Watermark on generated barcodes
· One user limit
What's New in This Release:
· The new UPCE constant of the Alphabet property allows to generate UPC-E barcodes. When Alphabet=UPCE, the Text property will accept 7- and 8-character numeric strings. The leftmost digit must be a numbering system digit (0 or 1). Normally, companies registered in USA use the numbering system 0. System digit 1 is reserved and some barcode scanners with default configurations may reject system-1 barcodes. The next 6 digits are the UPC zero-suppressed data derived from UPC-A code. The last digit is optional check digit. If the check digit is not specified, the ActiveX will automatically calculate it.
· The example of MSI wrapper script to install StrokeScribe using Active Directory is available in the developer zone for Extended and Developer license users. To build an MSI package from the script, you will need to download WiX tools. To be able to automatically uninstall StrokeScribe using the MSI script, please download the latest version of StrokeScribe.
