7-PDF Maker Portable 1.4.1 description

This is the portable version of 7-PDF Maker, a tool which allows you to create PDF documents from files with various extensions, including DOC, DOCX, RTF, PPT, ODT, HTML and JPG.
Since installation is not required, you can place 7-PDF Maker on a removable device (like a USB flash drive), plug it into any computer and directly run its executable file.
What's more important is the fact that your Windows registry keys will remain intact.
The interface of the application is simple and intuitive. Files can be imported by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported (and neither is batch processing).
So, once you specify the destination directory, you can proceed with the conversion process.
In addition, you can specify the page range, export notes and bookmarks, configure image settings (e.g. lossless or JPEG compression), as well as use document and permission encryption.
Furthermore, you can enable the tool to ask you where to save the PDFs or to overwrite existing ones, open the PDF with the internal viewer after conversion, and more. Settings can be restored to their default values at any time.
The simple-to-use program takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, has a very good response time and quickly finishes a task while managing to keep a very good quality regarding text, images and shapes. We haven't come across any kind of issues during our tests.
Unfortunately, batch processing is not supported and that's 7-PDF Maker's biggest disadvantage. Plus, there is no help file available and the unregistered version displays a watermark on the output documents. Other than that, we strongly recommend 7-PDF Maker Portable to all user levels.
