Portable MyLanViewer is a Netbios and LAN/Network IP address scanner that locates all the computers on your wired or wireless network and displays information such as IP and MAC address, host name, OS version, work group, logged user identity and shared folders.
This is the portable version and of the application. It does not require installing and does not add any entries to the Windows Registry. Apart from these two details, it functions exactly as the installer version.
Thanks to its user-friendly interface and well thought out buttons layout, browsing through the scan results is not a confusing task. All the gathered information is conveniently sorted and displayed in categories and subcategories.
Besides acquiring information about the PCs on the network, Portable MyLanViewer can also monitor and alert you when a user goes offline, an IP address is modified or when the shared folder content of a computer changes.
Designed to perform these minute tasks, Portable MyLanViewer is highly customizable in terms of automatic rescanning times, number of working threads and IP range so you can constantly optimise and adapt the application the networks’ activity. Using this monitoring tool, you can also remotely connect to a computer located on the network and shut it down, lock it, reboot it or log off the current user.
Another key feature and certainly useful is Portable MyLanViewer’s ability to detect rogue DHCP servers. It can monitor all devices on your subnet, visible or hidden, and displays notifications when a new device connects to your WiFi router or wireless network.
With all of the above in consideration, it’s easy to say that Portable MyLanViewer is that extra set of eyes you need when it comes to monitoring your private or office network.
