SyMenu is a portable application which gives you the possibility of quickly accessing a wide range of item types from the system tray area; these can be programs, documents, links to folders and URLs, for instance.
Since installation is not an issue, you can also save SyMenu to an external storage unit (like a USB flash drive) and directly run it on any computer.
This way, no leftover items can be found on the hard drive or in the Windows Registry after uninstalling the app. Plus, you can carry SyMenu in your pocket whenever you're on the move.
Once installed, you can access the program's features from its context menu in the system tray area. The first required step is to create a list of items whose shortcuts you want to frequently use; besides the aforementioned types, you may also add Windows commands, containers and separators.
In addition, you can arrange the items in the list, expand or compress all folders, import items in batch mode, use a search function and disallow multiple instances. SyMenu may be set to backup configuration files and to automatically check for updates at startup. It supports keyboard shortcuts and mouse gestures, along with multiple GUI languages and themes.
SyMenu runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and worked smoothly during our testing, without hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs; we have not come across any issues. Thanks to its intuitive layout and rich customization features, SyMenu can be handled by both first-time and advanced users.
