The number of web browsers on the market is quite high, so finding the perfect program can be difficult. While Midori Portable isn’t a well-known name amongst these Internet browsers, it deserves to be given a chance.
The app has a simple interface, similar to those of other modern web browsers. It supports tabs, which means that you can open a large number of pages at the same time and swap between them with ease.
Midori can also open private windows. Any pages visited in “Private Browsing” mode aren’t stored into the app’s history log and the web cookies aren’t saved. Also, no website can track your activity, language settings or time zone while using this mode.
Furthermore, the program comes with a shortcut panel where you can save various web addresses for fast access.
The app’s “Preferences” area enables you to choose the action you want the program to perform when it starts. For instance, it can show the last open tabs, the Speed Dial page or the Homepage.
Also, you may fiddle with the font settings, define a default output folder for the downloaded files and several network options. The way the browser looks may be modified by altering the toolbar style.
Some privacy settings are available. Thus, you can have the cookies and history log deleted after a certain period of time (one hour, one day, one week, one week or one year).
Midori Portable comes with several extensions which allow you to modify the way the browser works and looks. For instance, you can color each tab distinct shade, copy the addresses of all tabs to the clipboard and block advertisements according to a filter list, just to name a few.
The bottom line is that Midori Portable is a nice program that can be of great use on a daily basis. Inexperienced users should have no problems in figuring out how to work with this software. Since the app is portable, it doesn't need to be installed on the computer and it shouldn't leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
