Mp3tag is a simple application that can help you edit the ID3 tags of your MP3 files.
Due to the fact that it's portable, Mp3tag doesn't require installation. So, your Windows registry entries will remain intact. Also, you can store Mp3tag on a removable device and directly run the executable file on any computer.
The user interface of the tool is easy to navigate through. You can add files, a directory or a playlist by using the file browser or the "drag and drop" method.
In the list you can view the path, tag, title, artist, album, album artist, track, disc number, year, genre, comment, codec, bitrate, sample frequency rate, length and last date of modification, for each file.
So, you can edit the ID3 tag fields on the left side of the screen, set the output directory, export tag and file information from the selected files, save current settings in a configuration file, as well as use the "Undo" button.
But you can also customize columns (e.g. set name, value, field, sorting mode), rename files after a defined pattern based on tags, import tags from file names or text files, as well as apply user-defined actions (e.g. case conversion) to the selected files, and more.
The program uses a low amount of system resources, includes a comprehensive help file and didn't pop up any errors during our tests. Since Mp3tag is very easy to work with (even by beginners), we strongly recommend it to all users.
