Unified Remote acts like a server that would enable your Android or Windows Phone devices to control your computer.
In other words, you can perform a wide range of actions within browsers (such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Opera), multimedia players (including Boxee, BS.Player, foobar2000, Hulu Desktop, iTunes, J. River Media Center, Media Player Classic, MediaMonkey, Spotify, VLC, Winamp, Windows Media Player or XBMC) or other apps, like PowerPoint, Picasa or Pandora.
You can not only remotely shutdown or restart your PC, but you can also send text, perform mouse actions or explore the Start Screen and the Charms Bar.
NOTE: You need to install the correct mobile application (for Android or Windows Phone) on your phone in order to be able to enjoy all the benefits of the software.
You can try the portable version here.
