Similar to StrongDC++, ApexDC++ is a file sharing/peer to peer Windows software. Its architecture makes it possible to share files in Direct Connect networks via two protocols, namely NDMC and ADC.
While most people resort to torrent clients as a way to download and upload data, ApexDC++ has quickly developed a fan-base due to the fact that it is simpler to use and relies on a different type of sharing algorithm, considerably more advantageous in terms of transfer speeds.
The installation process does not pose major problems and it’s not time consuming either. During deployment, ApexDC++ offers you the possibility to install some additional components which are either fun (emoticons) or functional (GeoIP Database). Selecting all options is recommendable if you want to test the software to its fullest.
ApexDC++’s interface doesn’t make an impression on users that are accustomed to DC clients. The GUI is typical for this particular type of software, but nonetheless, there is some comfort in working with a familiar interface.
A lot of users have switched from other software to ApexDC++ for various reasons - speed and overall performance, the vast and helpful community, constant updates, and many others.
One of the most appreciated features of ApexDC++ is the segment downloading, which allows users to download a file from multiple users simultaneously while preserving the integrity of the download package. It also provides a high level of security via the encryption feature that secures the transferred data.
With ApexDC++, you benefit from an upload/download speed limiter that can be used to preserve some speed for web browsing sessions too.
Also, ApexDC++ is completely customizable in appearance. You can choose your own colors and fonts for basically everything. In addition, there are all sorts of plugins available - media players, spam filters in private messages, and various LUA modules.
There’s no way of choosing your favorite DC client than experimenting with each one of them. Nonetheless, our tests showed that ApexDC++ is strong competition for similar software through its decent transfer speeds that truly recommend it.
