For those seeking a supplemental layer of protection that will ensure their privacy while browsing the Internet, sometimes an antivirus and a firewall are just not enough. Therefore, in order to hide their traces from prying eyes many users try anonymizing services or applications.
JAP / JonDo is such a software that aims to help users stay unidentified when connected to the Internet by changing the real IP address.
Downloading and setting it up will definitely take a while because the software doesn't come as a light package and, in case you're using Firefox as your daily browser, you may also have to download some additional software to integrate JonDo into it.
The great thing is that you can install the application in 'Portable mode' and thus carry it with you on a memory pen drive, for instance.
Using the application is not too difficult, even though the interface is not that good-looking and rather built with functionality as the main focus. All the settings can be quite easily accessed but you still have to give it a bit of your time to make all the arrangements.
After testing it, we can confirm that JonDo is indeed an efficient solution, but just like it happens with other similar programs, it could slow down the Internet connection a little bit.
All in all, JonDo is another important effort to help users stay anonymous while browsing the web. It takes a while to configure it but once everything is properly set up your privacy will be protected while you surf the web.
