Adobe Media Server provides a comprehensive video publishing environment designed to help broadcasters create rich, scalable media services and deliver digital content across multiple platforms, including iOS and Android.
The application is designed to offer an enhanced multimedia experience and comes with powerful, advanced features for delivering protected, high-quality media content to global audiences. It offers a cost-effective solution for live media deployment by streaming from within the network infrastructure, using Flash Player to distribute data and videos.
Adobe Media Server supports multiple video streaming methods and features on-demand packaging for HTTP, allowing fast delivery of hundreds of files at the same time, even on devices that do not have Flash Player installed. Using HTTP caching technologies, it ensures high scalability and lowers the impact on the server capacity.
Other features include live PVR/DVR support, H.264 enhancements, dynamic streaming and support for the latest technologies (HTML5). It provides UDP communication capabilities, as well as SWF file verification tools. High-definition videos can also be distributed with Adobe Media Server.
The program allows P2P live video delivery between Flash Player clients, as well as media streaming using the RTMP and the RTMPE (real-time encryption of RTMP) protocols. Furthermore, you can add digital rights management protection using Adobe Access, thus enhancing the protection level of the video content.
The running servers can be managed from within the 'Administration Console', a browser-based utility that enables you to monitor server instances and active connections, view server performance, the bandwidth usage and the number of clients. Furthermore, it can be used for live logging, managing the connected user accounts, viewing the server up time and organizing shared objects and streams.
Adobe Media Server can be configured as a origin server for secure HTTP live streaming with strong encryption and on-demand media packaging. Its purpose is to help publishers simplify the video delivery process, while providing interactive solutions for engaging audiences.
Limitations:
· This free Development Server is designed for you to use to evaluate and deploy small scale solutions. There is no expiration time period and it contains all of the features and functionality found in a full version of Flash Media Interactive Server. However, it has a capacity ceiling of no more than 10 simultaneous.
