Offline Explorer Pro is an application that lets you save an entire website, so you can navigate through it offline.
The interface of the program is clean and intuitive. If you are a first-time user, you can start by using the "New Project" wizard.
Here you can input the project URL, name and download directory, as well as set the levels limit.
In the following step, you can select to either download all files that are linked to the starting page or skip the loading specific file types (graphics, audio, video and archives).
Then you can enable Offline Explorer to either load content only within the starting URL, only from the starting server, or from any location. Also, you can optionally load images from any location or try to explore all possible directories.
At the end of the wizard, you can select to immediately start the downloading task, generate a site map, download the project later or set up advanced settings.
In addition, you can filter content, files (e.g. text, images, video), URLs (URL exclusions, protocol, server, directory, filename). But you can also configure download limits, parsing settings, translation mode, file copies and passwords used for protected websites.
Furthermore, Offline Explorer allows you to schedule projects, use the Sequencer to download projects one by one, download up to 500 files simultaneously, use an internal editor with syntax highlight for HTML, CSS and JavaScript files, relocate downloaded files, customize the interface, backup and restore projects, and more.
The program uses a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, downloads content in a reasonable amount of time, can run in the background and comes with a well-drawn help file (although it could use some improvements, such as snapshots).
On the other hand, sometimes text written in popup windows is incorrectly displayed. For example, it temporarily disappears when you're switching to another application. Plus, the trial version is limited, so you cannot export files.
In conclusion, Offline Explorer Pro is a great application for downloading online content and we recommend it to all users.
