Xfire is an instant messaging application for gamers, with capabilities for browsing game servers.
The program can be installed quickly; however, you should note that the software offers to install the Xfire XO toolbar and set Bing as your default search engine and homepage.
With Xfire, you can chat with your friends, take screen shots, record videos and monitor statistics for various games.
You can use it to talk with other gamers and even create chat rooms, if you want to start communicating with a larger group of people, thus eliminating the need for other IM clients. Furthermore, Xfire features a Social Network Manager that lets you import contacts from AOL, Facebook, Google, Yahoo or Windows Live Messenger.
Besides the fact that you can join your friends in the games they are currently playing, Xfire also maintains a detailed statistic of the games you played. You can view your rank, the number of Xfire users that play the game, or the numbered of played minutes per day.
If you use Xfire you don't necessarily have to join your companions in their games. You can use the program's dedicated tab to search for servers all around the world. It provides the possibility to quickly join a game or add it to your Favorites list.
More than that, the software Xfire is perfectly capable to automatically detect the games installed on a computer, as it comes with an extensive list of supported titles.
You can enrich your multimedia archive by taking pictures of memorable in-game moments or record videos that can be shared with your friends. What's even more interesting is the Xfire can broadcast a live feed of what a user is playing.
Furthermore, the application allows gamers to chat while in a game, either by microphone or through a chat window, access the music player or web browser just by pressing the right key combination.
Xfire is a handy and easy-to-use instrument that lets you monitor and launch games and allows you to stay connected with gamers from all over the world.
