InSpeak Communicator is an easy-to-use instant messaging service.
When you first initiate the program, you have to sign up. Make sure to provide a valid e-mail address, because you have to confirm it before logging in.
The user interface of the program is plain and doesn't stand out in any way. You can view users who are online, offline or not on your list, as well as set a custom status and listen to radio in the InSpeak Gemini Sounds Radio (a public system text room).
Plus, you can join various types of rooms (e.g. system, public, religious), search for rooms, add them to a favorites list or create a new room (with the possibility of enabling voice and video, as well as password-protecting it).
Furthermore, you can search for another InSpeak Communicator user by nickname, first and last name, country, gender and age interval, and add them to the contact, block, allow or invisible list.
In Settings, you can change personal information and privacy level, add an image, enable usage of uPnP for peer-to-peer activities, set interface language, change skin, enable auto responder and auto greeter, reassign the key you have to press in order to speak during audio conversations, set up the webcam and file transfer, and more.
Unfortunately, you cannot find a user without adding their nickname to the search criteria, and you don't need to allow someone to add you on their friend list (this is done automatically). Also, we were not able to apply settings in Maintenance (e.g. change skin) in the Settings menu, since this option was not clickable.
The program comes with video tutorials for various topics (but they are not complete) and uses a very low amount of system resources, while establishing secure connections. Besides its interface that could use some work (e.g. buttons and menus could be larger), InSpeak Communicator is a pretty good instant messenger.
