VideoCacheView 2.60 description
VideoCacheView is a useful manager for web browser cache. It extracts media files from the cache folder of your web navigator. We tested it on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and we easily identified video and audio files previously watched or listened online.
VideoCacheView provides you with the possibility to save these files for offline use, without having to download them again. Simply select the files you are interested in and save them to a desired location, for later use.
You can also view or listen to the media content, directly from the cache of the Internet Browser, that is if you have an associated player for the file type. VideoCacheView can use the external application to play the files by simply clicking in the cache manager interface.
Not all browsed content is available for offline view, but VideoCacheView has a solution for that too. If the file was not stored you can use the Open Download URL in Browser function to reopen the media file and enjoy it once more.
VideoCacheView provides you with advanced information for the files in the cache folder of your web browser. You can find out if the file is stored in cache or not, learn the content type, the browser that stored the data, the cache type, date last accessed or modified, file size and path file name.
The software can also identify SWF and image files in the cache folder or your Internet Browser. So in case you want to easily access recently browsed media, give it a try to test its capabilities.
What's New in This Release:
· Added support for saving the new MPEG-DASH streams of YouTube as MP4 file that can be played on any media player. Requires to install additional open-source software: GPAC. VideoCacheView uses the MP4Box utility installed as a part of GPAC package to convert the MPEG-DASH streams into a valid mp4 file that can be played with any media player. Special thanks to one of NirSoft users who gave me the hint for solving the problem with MPEG-DASH streams.
· Fixed bug with the cache of Internet Explorer (6.0 - 9.0): VideoCacheView failed to detect a small portion of the cache entries.
· Fixed VideoCacheView 32-bit to work with IE10 on 64-bit systems.
