SkyGrabber 3.1 description
SkyGrabber is able to download satellite Internet data, assembling it into various file formats with the aid of a satellite dish, a DVB-S/DVB-S2 TV tuner and a KU-Band/C-Band LNB device.
SkyGrabber is based on a smart engine that accepts input from a satellite tuner card which will then be saved on the hard drive. Using it can bring various advantages, one of which can be recording various TV shows on your computer.
By definition, it is an offline satellite downloader, meaning that an Internet connection is not required, but keep in mind that it only works with free-to-air satellite Internet data.
SkyGrabber requires specialized equipment in order to achieve its purpose; this includes a satellite dish, a KU-Band/C-Band LNB device and a DVB-S/DVB-S2 TV tuner. The list of supported tuners includes eight manufacturers, as follows: Azureware, TechniSat, TechnoTrend, DVBWorld, TBS/QBOX, TeVii, Genitech and GotView.
If and only if the requirements stated above are fulfilled, the software will show its true colors. Simply customize your satellite dish in accordance with the selected provider and you can start grabbing content.
In order to capture only data that is of interest to you, the application provides various filters that block out certain streams.
There is a whole section dedicated to filtering alone and it comprises options to allow only the specified file types to be grabbed (media content, archives, etc), as well as possibilities to block out the specified IP or MAC addresses (or to allow content only from the specified IP and MAC address lists) or to filter by source ports.
Ongoing downloads are listed in the main window of the software, but access to completed files is also granted. General statistics on CPU and memory usage, traffic and transfer rate are present in the lower side of the interface, at all times.
