Whereas other bookmark managers limit a bookmark to being in just one category at a time, Gamut Bookmarker let's you file the same bookmark into additional categories.
Gamut automatically arranges a category's list of related bookmarks and notes. More specific bookmarks appear as children of more general ones, and notes appear below their sources.
More powerful than your browser's bookmark manager, or the Windows Explorer file manager, Gamut lets you file a single note or bookmark (an item) into multiple categories (called topics).
Dragging and dropping an item to another topic will associate it with the new topic without severing its link to the present one. Other owners of the items contained by a topic are its filter topics and appear in italics as sub-topics.
Clicking on a filter topic will display the intersection of items belonging to both its parent and its underlying topic. This feature gives the flexibility you need to create your own organisational system that is both personally intuitive, and allows you to find the information you need when you need it. And to save you time and effort, related notes and bookmarks within a topic are automatically arranged into a tree reflecting their interconnectedess.
The Gamut Toolbar will appear in your web browser and has an "Add Bookmark" button, as well as an "Add Note" button which is enabled whenever text is highlighted. Use these to save bookmarks and clip notes directly from your browser.
Gamut includes an import function so that, with the click of a button, you can bring in all of your existing Favorites from your browser. This function will automatically combine bookmarks that point to the same webpage, and file the single resulting item under multiple topics.
