FontCard is a haxie that modifies the Font menu in Carbon and Cocoa applications. It can add an icon that displays the format of a font next to the font menu item, display the font name in the font face, group fonts into submenus, and add font collections to the font menu. What's New: Version 1.1: This version is now 5 to 30 times faster at displaying font menus. Now works with Cocoa applications. A new menu item is added under the Show Fonts menu item. Supported on Mac OS X 10.3 Panther and later only. New Registration System. Registered users are able to click the Update Now button to quickly and easily update their registration. The new serial number works across users so if you have permissions to write to /Library, all users will get the new SN automatically. Now works with Photoshop and other application's palette font menus. Now works in Word 2004. The fact it did not work was not a bug in FC. FC now works around the bug in Word 2004 by sending Word 2004 an AppleEvent. Added the option to check selected fonts in the menu item. Off by default. Very, very slow and doesn't work in applications that use the Font Panel. Rewrote the font menu handling when running on Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar does not support this new method of font menu handling. Made it do a lot more work beforehand if a font menu had been opened in a previous launch of the application. No longer tries to match via PostScript names. No font menu is ever going to use PostScript names for its menu item names. Speeds up font menu rebuilds a bit. Only tries to match font family names if the application is an application that could possibly have a match that way.
