Photo Magician is a tool that allows you to easily rescale images of various formats, including BMP, JPG and PNG.
Since this is an ad-supported product, you should pay attention during installation because Photo Magician automatically installs a third-party software (that it doesn't need to fully function), unless you decline the offer.
The user interface of the program is clean and intuitive. You can input a folder of images and specify an output destination (the “drag and drop” method is not supported, but batch rescaling is).
So, you can configure conversion settings (e.g. include subfolders, overwrite originals, turn off image preview) and add special effects (e.g. sepia, negative, grayscale, rotate, flip).
But you can also select a profile (e.g. maintain original size, percentage, custom width and height) to scale images, as well as use command-line parameters (an explanatory document can be found here) and check for online updates.
During conversion you can view the total successful and skipped files, as well as elapsed time. But you can also email images or upload them to a FTP or a social network website.
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and manages to successfully complete tasks without freezing, crashing or popping up errors. Plus, you can select your preferred language.
However, there is no help file available. Even if Photo Magician is extremely simple to use, beginners could need a little guidance. Also, there is no way of previewing results without initiating the conversion process. Even so, we strongly recommend Photo Magician to all users.
