ID3 renamer 4.0.12 is regarded as a useful and effective software created to be a very professional tag editor. Useful if you need to rename a large number of files in a directory accordingly to their ID3 description and a given "formula".

Major Features:

Renaming features:
- Remove diakritics
- - Remove from filename the czech diakritics. Useful when eq. you MP3 player doesn't corectly support this chars.
- Character substitution
- - Here you can substitute some characters. Useful for burning or MP3 player or renaming file after download. Eq. "_" to " " (space).
- Capitalize first letter of each word
- - Files are renamed and first letter of each word is in UPPER case.
Writing features:
- FreeDB searching:
- - The FreeDB.org searching is based on algorithm for CDs. ID3 renamer compute this number from MP3 files. So you must mave the whole album, sorted in directory as tracks on album and the track must be in right length, else the FreeDB database will not be able to find the requested album.
  - The "View album info" button will show you the extended information about the selected album, eq. track names.
  - With "Use local file" you can select the local FreeDB file (some CD rippers are saving these files) and use it for writing the information from it to the tag, like the FreeDB search.
- MusicBrainz searching:
- - The MusicBrainz.org searching is entirely based on text. ID3 renamer is able to use Album name, Artist and Number of tracks. If you wanna not to use one of these put there empty string or 0. ID3 renamer tries initially to load this information for you from some files in selected directory. When you are done filling the information press "Search" button and see the results.
  - The "Album info" button will show you the extended information about the selected album, i.e. track names.
  - The "My tracks are not properly ordered, try to do it for me" checkbox tells ID3 renamer not to rely on order of files when writing, but rather try to do some matching based on available information from file and from MusicBrainz.
- Tag from filename:
- - Exclude extension
  - - If this checkbox checked is, program will ignore the ".mp3" extension of file. There is no meaningful reason to uncheck this checkbox. But this is option is here.
  - Use full path
  - - If this checkbox checked is, program will use for RE matching the whole path (usefull if you have folder named like i.e. the album).
  - Matches and tag fields
  - - In this box you will see filepart matches (after testing RE) and also you will be able to select which part of file is what ID3 tag field.
- Tag synchronizing:
- - Allow you to synchronize fields in tag. You can easy copy all info from ID3v1 tag to ID3v2 tag and vice versa.
- Character substitution:
- - Here you can substitute some characters in selected fields of tag. Useful MP3 player, etc. Eq. "_" to " " (space).
- Remove tag:
- - Removes tag from file. All data will be lost!
  - Before start you will be asked and you have last chance to cancel this action.
